North Braddock was incorporated in 1897 with a borough form of government. An annual budget over $3.2 million serves approximately 4,800 residents (2010 census). Affordable housing, close commute to Pittsburgh, nearby highways/interstates, close public transit, and the historic presence make North Braddock an attractive community.
ANIMAL CONTROL:
Sable Kennel is contracted to handle all animal control issues.
BOROUGH BUILDING:
The borough offices are located at the municipal building at 600 Anderson Street, North Braddock, PA 15104.
CLEAN UP INITIATIVE:
Volunteers clean up their neighborhood on designated days every spring and fall to beautify the community.
CODE ENFORCEMENT:
There is one full time code official for building inspection, issuing permits, and enforcing property codes.
COMMUNITY YOUTH GARDEN:
Gardweeno on Bell Avenue gives local youth an opportunity to learn gardening skills and participate in other social activities.
COUNCIL MEETINGS:
Council publicly meets the third Tuesday of every month at 6:30pm. One mayor and nine council members are elected to represent the government.
CURFEW ORDINANCE:
Anyone under 18 years of the age is prohibited from loitering in the borough after 10:00pm.
DIAL 9-1-1:
Allegheny County 911 handles all emergency call taking and dispatching for the borough. Call 911 to report any emergency 24 hours a day.
EMS:
Priority One EMS is contracted to provide ALS & BLS ambulance crews for medical calls.
E-WASTE RECYCLING:
Drop off all electronic waste such as TV's, computers, etc. at the designated E-Waste dumpster at the borough parking lot. Don't leave electronic waste at the curb, it will not be collected with regular trash.
FIRE:
North Braddock VFD is led by five operational officers and has a complete staff of trained volunteer firefighters for fire and rescue calls. The department operates from a Wolfe Avenue station with 4 equipped trucks.
GARDEN CLUB:
Resident have formed a volunteer garden club to raise funds to beautify the community. Current projects include restoration of the welcome sign planter boxes, adding new soil, & planting fresh flowers. The garden club meets monthly at Fire Station #1.
GOLF COURSE:
Grand View Golf Club is a local public course for playing 18-holes, dining, and sight-seeing.
HOLIDAY EVENTS:
Annual holiday events are held for community youth including trick or treat, fall festival, and light up night.
MAGISTRATE:
Elected magistrate Scott Schricker presides over all local court hearings at his Turtle Creek office. (412) 824-6201.
MANAGER:
The borough manager oversees the annual budget, finances, and handles daily business.
NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH:
Residents are advised to watch out for one another and report anything suspicious in the neighborhood immediately to the police. Nextdoor online groups were created for neighbors to communicate and interact in the neighborhood.
PARKS:
Three public parks are used by residents. The Ridgeview Drive Park, Brinton Avenue Park, and the Bell Avenue Recycle Park are available for recreation. The parks are open from 9:00 AM to dusk. Trespasses can be prosecuted for failing to follow the rules.
POLICE:
The NBPD consists of the interim chief and patrol officers to protect & serve the borough. Officers are staffed for 24 hour coverage.
PUBLIC LIBRARY:
Braddock Carnegie Library is free to the public and located at 419 Library Street in Braddock Borough. (412) 351-5357.
SCHOOL DISTRICT:
Woodland Hills School District serves the local students (K-12 grades) in a large district of approximately 4,000 students. Propel Charter School and East Catholic are nearby alternatives for education. (412) 731-1300.
SLIPPERY ROCK CARE PROJECTS:
Volunteer students from Slippery Rock work alongside local volunteers on community improvement projects every spring and fall.
STREET DEPARTMENT:
The NBSD consists of a supervisor and five full time laborers. The NBSD provides maintenance for parks, roads, storm drains, and other infrastructure.
TAX COLLECTOR:
One elected tax collector has part-time office hours to handle all local tax issues.
TRASH COLLECTION:
Big's Sanitation is contracted for trash collection. Ward 2 & Ward 3 are collected on Tuesdays. Ward 1 is collected on Wednesdays. One day delay during holiday weeks. Place all recycling in your trash. All trash cans shall be returned off the sidewalk after collection. (724) 379-4331.
US POST OFFICE:
Braddock Post Office at 1110 Braddock Avenue provides mail delivery and services to the residents. (412) 271-4165.

Peoples Gas 1-800-400-4271 (Emergency), Duquesne Light (412) 393-7000 (Emergency), Verizon, Comcast, Wilkinsburg Penn Joint Water Authority (412) 243-6200 & ALCOSAN are serving the local residents.

North Braddock Cares volunteers to work on community projects, hold community events, and meet on the last Monday of each month.

Registered voters vote every May & November at the polls. Ward 1 votes at 1318 Wolfe Avenue, Ward 2 votes at 600 Anderson Street, and Ward 3 votes at 620 Sixth Street.
WAGE TAXES:
