CRIME WATCH
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
The Neighborhood Watch program was developed by residents in 2007. All residents are encouraged to always participate in the neighborhood watch. Meetings were held monthly to cover topics and listen to guest speakers. Different topics were covered and block captains were designated. The concept of a neighborhood watch is to watch over your neighborhood and report anything suspicious to the police. The program had full cooperation from the North Braddock Police Department. The meetings no longer meet regularly, but residents should always keep a watchful eye on their neighborhood. Never hesitate to report things to the police department.
In 2014, volunteer residents launched the Nextdoor community group in First Ward. Residents verify their address to join the online neighborhood group. The application is available on your PC and mobile devices. Residents share crime information, events, free items, and other community information. Members of Second Ward & Third Ward have also created their own groups for residents in those areas of town. Nextdoor members encourage more residents to join the group and become engaged with their neighbors. Here is your invite to join Nextdoor anytime.
